The Cooperative Fishermen on Trasimeno is situated in San Feliciano, a few steps from Magione. The cooperative has long been engaged in the fishing of the best fish of Lake Trasimeno. In addition, through the fishing tourism, It carries out activities for tourist and local people to rediscover not only the Lake Trasimeno, but also the typolgies of fish that can be caught and all the features of the ancient art of the fisherman.
Among the many activities the cooperative proposes also:

• “Tourist fishing”: fishing for families or large groups on board the barge of the cooperative and accompanied by fishermen.
• “Fishermen for a day”: accompany and spend a day with professional fisherman. It allows you to experience the thrill of the output at dawn on the typical fishing boats, place and collect the nets and then return at the cooperative for the delivery of the catch.
• “Nature walks”: this experience allows you to experience the thrill of moving within the waters of the lake. The cooperative provides boats to accompany tourists and enthusiasts in the most fascinating of the Trasimeno.
• “Evenings at the beach”: the cooperative, on request and based on the number of participants, organizes evenings on the beach with grilled fish and live music.

ISOLA MAGGIORE

Isola Maggiore, in the municipality of Tuoro sul Trasimeno, is the only of the three islands to be inhabited again. The island has an area of 24 hectares, it is relatively small, despite its name, the largest of the three islands of Trasimeno Lake is Isola Polvese. The settlement, consisting of 18 people, is located in the western part of the island, stretching from the pier to Via Guglielmi, the main street.
The distinctive appearance of the island still retains the feel of the fishing village of ‘400. In past centuries it was fishing the main source of livelihood of the island. To date, tourism and related activities, such as recreation, bathing and the sale of souvenirs, are the main source of income.
Coming down from the ferry we arrive at a small square, from here going to the right in direction of Via dei 3 Martiri you can get to the windmill, while going up to Via San Michele Arcangelo arrives at the Church of the same name, on the top of the island. If you head left, instead, you can take Via Guglielmi and along lake. Even today you can see the chapel that recalls the landing of San Francesco, when in 1211 he went into hermitage to Isola Maggiore for Lent, and the rock where the saint stopped to pray.

To visit is the Lace Museum, because tradition of lace crochet worked in “point of Ireland” is characteristic of Isola Maggiore, the Church of S. Salvatore characterized by a stone portal with carved reliefs, Palazzo del Capitano, the summer residence of the notables who held the post of Captain of the People and the Palazzetto Medievale, dating back to the thirteenth century, located on the main street and is a testimony of medieval civil architecture.

ISOLA POLVESE

Isola Polvese in the municipality of Castiglione del Lago, is located in the south-east of Trasimeno Lake. With its 70 hectares it is the largest of the three islands of Trasimeno Lake. The island is of particular interest from the point of view of nature, for the presence of high trunk holm and for very extensive reeds and an olive grove from which is derived organic olive oil. It is also interesting from the point of view of art and culture, because the island retains significant historical memories like the Church of S. Secondo, the Monastero Olivetano, the Church of S. Giuliano and a recently restored medieval castle.

Coming down from the ferry you can admire the great Villa, the old building, built about 200 years ago, it is composed of several structures, such as the mill, the farmhouse and storage farm tools. These structures have been recovered, and today represent the Service Center and Living Room, with scientific laboratories and environmental classrooms and conferences. At left is the implantation of Phytoremediation, the island is in fact an example of environmental management based on sustainability criteria thanks to this system, the energy saving systems and organic farming. A few steps there is the castle dating from the thirteenth century, you can admire the medieval walls and the interior courtyard, used as open-air theater. The path to the left of the castle, leading to the pool of Porcinai, a garden of aquatic plants, built at the end of the fifties on a project of the landscape architect Pietro Porcinai. The first on the right you reach the hostel, if you go up on the balcony you can see the whole island. We then come to the Monastero dei Monaci Olivetani with the Church of San Secondo, of which only the crypt, the apse, some parts of the walls and the facade. If you exceed the dense forest that is on the right leads at the beach where there is a playground and volleyball courts. Finally we come back to the Villa, where you can find the bar and the typical restaurant.
Isola Polvese is used as Scientific and Educational Park for education and environmental tourism and as Territorial Laboratory for sustainable development, for research and experimentation. You can participate in educational courses that provide a direct interaction with the surrounding environment through moments of games, working in the field and laboratory.

The Perugia Wake Park to live a fantastic adventure on the water in Perugia, a few kilometers from the town of Panicale and Magione.

The Perugia Wake Park Amateur Sports Association, affiliated to the Italian Federation of Water Ski and Wakeboard (FISW), manages the Sant’Andrea delle Fratte national park within the city of Perugia, easily reachable from the motorways and by public transport ( Line C – Line X – Gimo1). The plant is based on the IPNES 2-tower Italian company system that ensures maximum safety and smooth shooting. In the water there is a 120cm kicker and a 16m flat-box as well as the possibility of dropping from two posts placed at the start of 50cm and 1m. of height. The amplitude of the basin is the maximum fun for the most experienced pilots, both beginners and others.

The park is the ideal place to have fun with friends in a relaxed environment where you can stay with a wakeboard cable, a relaxation area with loungers; restaurant area, bar and ample space for dj-set aperitifs and evenings.

The Oasis ” “La Valle” is the most interesting part of Trasimeno Lake from the naturalistic point of view because, with its shallow waters and extensive reed beds, is an important stage of resting and nesting of thousands of birds along the main routes migration.
At the Oasis there is “Foresteria dell’Oasi” a hiking refuge that allows not only to discover but, above all, of Living the Oasis. It offers the opportunity to participate in all activities: a guided tour or audio guide, bird watching from the jetty, the scientific ringing of birds, the winter census, the photographic hunting observatory, the landscape photos to capture the beautiful sunsets on the lake.
The main path of the oasis through a simple staircase or an elevator for the handicapped, you enter the guesthouse consists of a large dining room bright and quiet room with kitchenette, two comfortable rooms with a total of 12 beds, 2 bathrooms each with shower room, 1 fully accessible with a wheelchair.

The Oasis is open all year, morning (9:00 / 13:00) and afternoon (15:00 / 18:00 from October to May and 16.00 / 20:00 From June to September), with guided tours, autonomous with audioguide (Italian and English) and with an interesting bridge with observatory on the lake, as well as a station for bird ringing.

“Strada del Vino Colli del Trasimeno” is a wine tour designed to retrace the history of the territory, rediscover nature, culture and food traditions of the area around Trasimeno Lake and includes all its municipalities. The “Strada del Vino Colli del Trasimeno” produces four white wines, five reds, a rosé sparkling wine classic method and seven single-grape (Grechetto, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay, Merlot Reserve, Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Gamay Reserve). All products are of high quality, guaranteed by the designation of origin “Colli del Trasimeno”.

In all the wineries that are part of the path you can taste and buy wines, olive oil and other local products. They are also active, on request, winery tours to explore the vineyards and places of production.

The route starts from the Historical Museum through images, curiosity, packaging and films to tell more than a century of Italian art of chocolate, from raw materials to manufacturing techniques. The Pietrafitta Lake since 4 May 2009, is managed by FIPSAS (Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Diving center) with an agreement between Enel and its neighboring municipalities. With this agreement, the Federation has created a new and important site for carpfisching competitive; each year the lake hosts events provincial, regional, national and global (world carp 2011). The lake of course is also open to common carp anglers who want to spend nice days of fishing in peace and happiness on a lake only of its kind.
The fish fauna of the lake was originally characterized by various species (carp, chub, tench, crucian carp, perch), coming from the river “Nestore”, well as the strain of native carp, present in small basins inside the quarry.

The environmental characteristics of Trasimeno Lake, the size and limited depth, making it the ideal place for the practice of Kite, Wakeboard, Sailing and Windsurfing. Sporting activity in the park is facilitated not only by the same morphology of the place, but also by the presence of numerous facilities and services furnished.

The sail

The sail is widely practiced throughout the basin due to the favorable conditions offered by the lake. The activity is supported by the presence of sailing clubs organizing sailing courses of initiation and advanced courses for children and adults, schools authorized by the Italian Sailing Federation.
